Every season and every steward helps tell the unique story of Maine — one blueberry, one drop of honey, one brushstroke at a time.

At Tops’l Farm, our endless curiosity about these incredible, singular tales, and the folks who create them, fuels our passion and dedication. So each season, we create and share “just a few”  inspired products that allow you to EAT, REST & PLAY the Maine way.

These are the treasured stories behind your favorite treasures and one way we can celebrate our Maine fields, farms, and friends all year round.

Sheepscot Farm - Whitefield

  • Our launch wouldn't be the same without the abundance of fresh, seasonal produce from Sheepscot General in Whitefield!

Their incredible herbs, tomatoes, chilies, onions, beets, carrots, and more are the stars of many of our Drink Jams, Garden Jams, and Tipple Tonics. Visiting their farm on a bustling Friday afternoon to pick up our weekly order in advance of whatever production we were doing in the farm kitchen was a true highlight - reminding us of the heart of our mission: to support our community of hardworking farmers through real and meaningful connections. With every bite (or sip!) of our products, you're directly supporting them too.

  • Sheepscot General is more than just a farm; it's a community hub. This MOFGA-certified organic farm in Whitefield Maine boasts a diverse array of vegetables, from high-tunnel crops to pick-your-own strawberries. But it's also a modern (and vibrant) country store with a bakery and cafe, offering a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Their commitment to organic practices and community engagement aligns perfectly with our values, and we're proud to include their incredible produce in our products. When you choose Tops'l, you're directly supporting Sheepscot General's mission to nourish both people and the land.

Bouchard Family Farms - Fort Kent

  • Ployes are a delicious piece of Acadian culinary heritage, deeply rooted in the St. John Valley of northern Maine. These thin, savory crepe- like pancakes are made with buckwheat flour grown by the Bouchard Farmily Farm and ideally cooked on a cast iron griddle.

Historically, ployes were a staple food for busy farmers, eaten at every meal. Their simple preparation and versatility made them perfect for on-the-go sustenance, folded around whatever fillings were available. Today, ployes remain a beloved regional dish, offering a taste of Acadian culture and a connection to Maine's agricultural past.

  • Bouchard Family Farm: A Legacy of Resilience in the St. John Valley

Our ployes wouldn't be possible without the exceptional effort and innovation from Bouchard Family Farm in Fort Kent. This family-run operation is deeply intertwined with the history and resilience of the St. John Valley. For generations, the Bouchards have been farming in this northern Maine region, a place where potato farming once dominated the landscape. But as the agricultural landscape shifted and potato farms dwindled, the Bouchards sought new ways to sustain their livelihood and honor their Acadian heritage.

They turned to buckwheat, a crop with a long history in the Valley, and began producing the flour needed for ployes, those iconic thin pancakes that were once a staple at every meal. Going above and beyond, they even resurrected a historic mill to process their own grain, ensuring the highest quality and preserving a piece of the past.

Today, Bouchard Family Farm stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of Maine's agricultural communities. They've not only kept a culinary tradition alive but also demonstrated the power of adaptation and innovation in the face of changing times. We're incredibly proud to source our ingredients from them, directly supporting their family farm and their commitment to keeping this unique piece of Maine's history alive. At Tops'l, we're passionate about collaborating with innovators like the Bouchards who are dedicated to preserving Maine's agricultural legacy for generations to come.

Moody Farm Cranberries - Lincolnville

  • We are on all all-out campaign to celebrate the Maine Cranberry!

When you think of Maine agriculture, potatoes and blueberries might come to mind first. But did you know that Maine has a thriving cranberry industry too? These tart, vibrant berries, packed with antioxidants and vitamins, are grown in bogs scattered across the state, adding a unique flavor to our local food scene. Beyond their delicious taste, cranberries offer a wealth of health benefits, including potentially reducing inflammation, supporting heart health, and even promoting better brain function.

We met Margot and the Moody family from Lincolnville several years ago and were immediately impressed by their dedication to producing high-quality cranberries. We're thrilled to be purchasing their amazing berries and building a stronger Maine together, one delicious cranberry at a time.

  • Moody Farm Cranberry: A Family Tradition, Carried Forward with Love

Our partnership with Moody Farm Cranberry is a story of dedication, family, and the enduring spirit of Maine agriculture. Nestled in Lincolnville, this family-run cranberry bog has been a labor of love for decades. Margo Moody, the heart and soul of the operation, nurtured the one-acre bog alongside her husband Fred, bringing together family and friends each year for the bustling harvest season.

Today, Margo continues to tend the cranberry vines with unwavering commitment, keeping the tradition alive and sharing her passion for these vibrant berries. The annual harvest remains a cherished time for loved ones to gather, share stories, and celebrate the bounty of the land. It's a testament to the strength and resilience of both the Moody family and the agricultural spirit that thrives in Maine.

The Moodys' dry-harvesting method ensures that their cranberries are plump, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. And when you savor the taste of these local gems in our products, you're not only experiencing the essence of Maine but also directly supporting Margo and her family's dedication to this cranberry legacy. We're honored to be a part of their story and to share their passion for producing exceptional, locally-grown fruit.

Blue Barren Distillery - Hope

  • Adding a splash of spirits to jam might seem unexpected, but it's a delightful way to elevate flavor and create a truly unique culinary experience. Amaro, an Italian herbal liqueur known for its bittersweet complexity, adds depth and intrigue to our Wild Blueberry Drink Jam.

What is Amaro? Amaro is digestif, traditionally enjoyed after a meal to aid digestion.

In our jam, the amaro's unique blend of herbs and botanicals complements the sweetness of the fruit, creating a taste that's both familiar and surprising. It's an adventurous twist on a classic, perfect for those who appreciate a touch of the unexpected.

It creates a unique flavor profile and supports a local beekeeper invested in the health of their bees and the environment. So, when you savor the sweetness of our honey, you're enjoying a delicious treat that's good for the bees and the planet.

  • Our delicious honey comes from Jane Dunstan and her beloved bees at the Apiary at Ridge Mist in Newcastle.
