Pack List

For your Maine Winter Weekend

Before you visit us at Tops'l Farm it's important to know what we provide and what you may want to bring with you.

You can always shoot us a note if you are unsure, but the list here should give you a good sense of it all.

Clothing

Depending on the time of year, it is usually a safe bet to pack for a variety of temps in Maine. Layers baby layers! Fleece, comfy pants and of course, some slip on shoes/boots and fuzzy socks for around the fire. With the sauana and hot tub on site, a swim suit, bathrobe and beach towel would be a great idea.

Food/Drink

Don’t forget the pre-order options for nibbles and drinks! We will need those ordered a week in advance of your arrival at the latest. And better yet they will be delivered to your spot prior to your arrival. Gorgeous cheeseboards, breakfast items and cozy raclette dinners!

If cooking is your thing - each of the homes are equipped with the basics. Be sure to check out our Mid Coast Guide for local provisions.

Beverages! We have a lovely selection of local Maine beers (including our own Kolsch with our collab with The Godfather of Maine Beer Danny McGovern) as well as small producer/bio dynamic wines. Please add these to your reservation and they will be at your spot when you arrive.

Towels/Sheets/Soap, etc.

All linens, towels & toiletries are available - we do not have beach towels so if you are planning to use the sauna please bring those for your group.

Sauna/Hot Tub/Cold Plunge

We have rented the amazing Native Sauna wood fired unti for the winter while we build our own! Here is the skinny on the sauna use for the weekend:

  • We will have it hot and ready for use on Friday by request. If you plan on being there Friday afternoon and would like to use it - let us know! Happy to have that fired up earlier in the day…but if you will not be planning on using it Friday afternoon we will not go to the effort.

  • Sauna Sign Up. There is a signup sheet inside the sauna for 3 private sessions on Saturday. First session is at 11 am and the rest follow from there. Before tucking in for the evening on Friday please have someone from your party sign-up for your private session. All other times over the weekend will be shared communal time - please be mindful and considerate if others are using the sauna.

  • Keep the fires burning. We will build the fires on Saturday morning in advance of the first private session. Once the fire is built on Saturday morning it is up to all guests to continue to keep it going. Please add logs before your leave the sauna so that it can be hot for the next group.

  • DIY Sauna Weekend. You are welcome to build fires in the sauna yourself at any time - it takes a few hours to heat up and then just needs to be tended.

  • Assumed Risk & Sauna Safety. By using the sauna on our property you are assuming all risk and enter it knowing the health risks for some individuals. Please review these sauna safety guidelines prior to use.
