Event Manager
a.k.a. FRONT OF HOUSE SUPERSTAR
We are seeking a few enthusiastic, driven and highly organized (part time) Food & Beverage/Private Event Managers for the 2024 season. You know the maestro-run-of-show-conductor type? Who thrive spinning plates and the energetic pace of a good party? Let’s chat!
We have 25+ events during our season and each one takes a boots-on-the-ground individual with amazing solutions-focused problem solving skills, a quick smile and a desire to go the extra mile to support our private event hosts and larger Tops’l culinary team.
Skills
S/he/they must be able to work well within time limits to manage, resource, and oversee many moving parts of the food & beverage execution of our private events. Excellent people skills are a must as s/he/they will be working with clients directly to identify their needs, ensure customer satisfaction but to also make sure that the property needs and boundaries are maintained. The ability to multitask and prioritize are essential…we’ve got lots to do!
Food is one of our love language at Tops’l Farm and a large part of what this work requires is a commanding knowledge of FOH service - let us know why you are perfect for this position!
Critical thinking and problem solving is a key need for all who are hired here at the farm. While none of us know everything, it is very much a part of our culture to have team players who think through solutions in tandem with asking for help.
Duties
General Tops’l Support
Intimate knowledge of assigned events in the 2024 seasonal calendar. (Each Event Manager should expect to manage 7+ weekends in the season.)
One monthly in-person meeting with larger Tops’l Event staff to discuss the upcoming month and prediction of needs.
For each event, must be available for a few administrative hours pre-event for onboarding and client communication.
Must have incredible communication & organizational skills.
Will be the point of contact for our hosts for the entirety of the event weekend.
Will coordinate with BOH and fully manage the FOH staff for that particular event.
Manangement of cross-department (lodging, property, culinary) communication for event needs.
Events: Post-Contract Support
Introduction with all wedding couples & their planner in advance of event.
Management of event from 45 days prior to event day (estimated 4-5 hours of emails, calls etc in total).
Event Manager: Will report to owner Sarah Pike and work closely with the Director of Operations, Head Chef, Beverage Manager and Property Team to execute each event. This is very much a self-driven position and candidate should be expected to work autonomously for most of the season with amazing communication.

Schedule: Part Time, Event Based & Flexible.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate and gratuity each event PLUS bonus at close of the season based on execution of individual goals. Vacation time accrued for time worked.
