Event Captains

Tops’l Farm is a farm retreat, event venue & “glamping” campground in mid-coast Maine. We believe in the importance of gathering with those you love and go to great lengths to ensure we deliver a planning process that is joyful, organized and super clear.

We are seeking a few enthusiastic, driven and highly organized Event Captains for the 2024 season. We have 25+ events each year and each one takes a boots-on-the-ground individual with amazing solutions-focused problem solving skills, a quick smile and a desire to go the extra mile to support our private event hosts and larger Tops’l team.

Skills

S/he/they must be able to work well within time limits to plan, resource, and oversee many moving parts of the specific event. Excellent people skills are a must as s/he/they will be working with clients directly to identify their needs, ensure customer satisfaction but to also make sure that the property needs and boundaries are maintained. The ability to multitask and prioritize are essential.

Critical thinking and problem solving is a key need for all who are hired here at the farm.  While none of us know everything, it is very much a part of our culture to have team players who think through solutions in tandem with asking for help.

  • Management of event from 45 days prior to event day.

Event Captain: Will report to owner Sarah Pike and work closely with the Director of Event Operations, Head Chef, Beverage Manager and Property Team to execute each event. This is very much a self-driven position and candidate should be expected to work autonomously for most of the season with amazing communication.

Schedule: Part Time, Event Based

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate plus bonus at close of the season based on execution of individual goals.  Vacation time accrued for time worked. Passionate colleagues who all love to work hard to create meaningful experiences for our guests.
