The History

Tops’l Farm began in 1936 when M.S. Smith sought a place in Maine where he could escape, sail his boat on the river, and start a farm.

For generations their family gathered, played, worked, and rested here. We don’t think much needs to change.

“Our dreams are pretty simple really. Our goal is to bring this property back to a working farm. We want to sustain our family’s food. Raise animals and cultivate gardens and continue to learn from the land.”
